Steve Letcher – Owner/ Ironman Finisher
Opening Iron Gear Sports has been one of the most exciting times in my career. I’ve been a business owner in the construction industry for years; however, the store allows me to share my passion with triathletes of all skill sets.
I started training for my first race almost 3 years ago and looking back, I can’t imagine what I did with my spare time. Once I crossed the finish line, triathlon became my addiction. And it’s that addiction I’m honored to share with you. My team and I are passionate and knowledgeable about the multisport lifestyle and we look forward to playing a role in yours.
HOMETOWN: Show Low, AZ.
AVERAGE WEEKLY TRAINING: 10-20 hours depending on the week.
FAVORITE WORKOUT(S): Hill repeats despite the brutal beating to my legs, Saturday morning group rides and of course rest week!

CURRENT TRIATHLON GOAL(S): To finish Ironman New Zealand sub 11:30
WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO COMPETE AND TRAIN: There is no greater feeling than starting each day surrounded by friends to motivate, push and drive my competitive edge.
Brock Pettyjohn – Master of Ceremonies/ Novice
Brock will retire his baseball glove and football pads on Saturday, October 23, and make his debut triathlon appearance at Lake Powell. His goal is simple: to cross the finish line. And he’s going to make a statement doing so! Brock will be the one wearing the neon reflective vest, and aviator glasses. Brock received his Bachelor’s Degree from Kansas Wesleyan University in Business Administration and is the Director of Sales at IGS.
HOMETOWN: Born and raised in Mesa, AZ
AVERAGE WEEKLY TRAINING: 6 hours
FAVORITE WORKOUT(S): Training for recovery!
FAVORITE/MEMORABLE RACE(S): The Human Race
CURRENT TRIATHLON GOAL(S): To finish his first race, and sell his bike the next day. (We still aren’t sure whether he is joking?)
WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO COMPETE AND TRAIN: Aside from the fact Steve inspires (makes) him, Brock welcomes the challenge of the sport and says his goal is to train his own way and do his own thing, and beat everyone doing so!
